Let’s celebrate parents; nominate a parent for Michigan Team Nutrition’s Health Champion Hall of Fame

Recognizing parent contributions to Making Healthy the Easy Choice in school. Michigan Team Nutrition’s Health Champion Hall of Fame now accepting 2012 nominations.

**The first 25 people to submit a nomination will receive a Fuel Up to Play 60 apron and cookbook**

Do you know a parent who is helping to make your school a healthy place for kids? It’s time to brag about it!  Whether these changes have been big or small, they are all significant and we want to hear about them! 

Tell us in 200 words or less, how you or other parents have helped promote Making Healthy the Easy Choice at school in one of the following ways:  (click on the below links for nomination ideas) 

Healthy school celebrations / parties

Healthy fundraising

Healthy concessions (including vending machines)

Reward alternatives to food

Healthy snacks brought to school

Healthy school meetings

Healthy school breakfast

Healthy school lunch


GRAND PRIZE: Winner will be honored and inducted into the Michigan Team Nutrition’s Health Champion Hall of Fame at a special assembly with a former Detroit Lion’s player.  The former Lion’s player will come to their child’s school to talk about healthy habits and will motivate children to get active and lead healthy lifestyles. 

Runner up: Will be inducted into the Michigan Team Nutrition’s Health Champion Hall of Fame and receive five (5) days worth of healthy dinners for their family, complete with tips to easily prepare healthy meals at home.

Who’s eligible?

  • Parents, teachers, administrators, and anyone else who is interested in nominating a Michigan parent with kid(s) in grades K-12.
  • There is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit.

When can I nominate?

  • Now through Friday, March 9, 2012 5:00 PM EST
