Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Ending Date: May 11, 2017
This two-hour, free workshop facilitated by Parent Action for Healthy Kids and hosted Lansing School District will help parents and other supportive adults learn effective ways to keep the door open to conversations with teens about sex.
A meal will be provided and there will be door prizes.
In the workshop parents learn about ways to open the door to conversation; recognize and use teachable moments to communicate important facts and values; practice answering difficult questions; listen and respond with greater confidence and skill.
Parents are the primary sexuality educators of their children. Continued communication at home is vital in helping our young people avoid sexual relationships they are not yet prepared for that may have serious consequences including pregnancy, HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
